The purpose of this study is to investigate the sixth-grade students’ reactions and possible misconceptions about “Factor ” and “Multiple” by using a self-made test which analyzed with software like SPSS, Excel and graphed with TestGraf98. The conclusions can be utilized by teachers as reference for their normal and remedy teaching. The conclusions are as below: I.The analysis of the test and the item option characteristic curve: a.The reliability coefficient of Cronbach α of the formal test is .885. The average difficulty index of the items is .51 and the average discrimination index of the items is .584. b.According to the item option characteristic curve of each item, three types can be generalized from the study. II.The sixth grade students’ comprehension about the concept of “Factor and Multiple”: a.Concept of factor: (a)Some students would omit or find more when finding factors or common factors of integers. (b)When solving problems of greatest common factor, some students are not sure whether they should use greatest common factor or least common multiple. (c)Some students don’t comprehend the meaning of short division though they can operate it correctly. b.Concept of prime and composite number: (a)Some students would think that all the odd numbers are prime numbers. (b)Some students think integer 1 is a prime, too. (c)Some think the larger odd numbers are prime numbers as well. (d)Some of them think integer 2 is a composite number. c.Concept of multiple: Students are able to find the multiples of integers, but if the range of the multiples is restricted, then some of them are not able to find the multiples accurately.
