The simplicity and construction of ink and wash painting was the creating inspiration of the study. The creating concept of the study derived from the combination of oriental spirit of ink wash painting and the philosophy of modern western aesthetics. The research attempted to create a graphic work by taking advantage of the features of computer graphics, theory of Gestalt and transparent acrylic plastic. By means of semi-concrete constitution, the aesthetics and everyday life issues of ink and wash painting were presented. Throughout the repeated creating experiments with aesthetic theories of art, the ink wash painting and the floating lines were replaced with multi-duplicated rectangles that were simplified and where colors were confined within the shapes. In order to make the image so unrecognizable that it is somewhere between concrete and abstract, the obvious contours of the rectangles were removed from original image or made some appropriate cuts. Shaping rectangles with repetitive floating lines coupled with gradual fading enables to create “a psychological distance” and with the help of modern materials gives the presentation of the work a more contemporary look. Five chapters are presented as follows: Chapter one Description of the motivation, method and procedure. Chapter two Discussion on the creating inspiration from oriental spirits of ink and wash painting and modern western aesthetics. Chapter three Elaboration of the relationship between the current study and the presentation of the work by clarifying the characteristics of computer artworks. Chapter four Interpretation of the study by explaining creation concept, art materials and composition. Chapter five Conclusion, summary, reflection and suggestions for future works.
