Popis: | 99 This study combines the principal component analysis(“PCA”) in the factor analysis procedure and data development analysis(“DEA”), trying to improve and adjust the variable-selecting procedure. With the aforementioned combination of PCA and DEA, this study selects the more reliable PCA as the variable-selecting methodology of three-stage DEA analysis. The major findings and conclusions of this study are listed as following: 1. Overall reviewing the conclusions based on the analysis of the BCC model and Malmquist index, the management performances among Taiwan LED industry varied with the different groups, with the significant differentials in efficiency index of DEA. 2. With contrast to merger cases in Taiwan LED industry, the DEA analysis differs between sale-oriented DEA analysis and EBIT-oriented DEA analysis. As far as sale-based and strategies-based perspectives are concerned, the synergy effect of Epistar cases prevailed among all merger cases. Epistar took the key position in AUO-panel supply chain, by means of mergers including Epitech as well as Highlinktech in 2007. Nevertheless, the strategic cooperation among Epistar, Tekcore and Everlight have not yet resulted in consecutively improvement from sale-based Malmquist index perspective. 3. However, the cooperation between Genesis Photonics and Nichia in 2007,have resulted in the successful launching of high-brightness LED chips, but short of significant improvement in sale-oriented DEA analysis. As for Forepi, it have been the key LED provider since 2006, with the improvement in sale-oriented performances. 4. As far as EBIT-based and strategies-based perspectives are concerned, the Epistar case demonstrated positive effects in DEA-based performance indexes. The cooperation of Genesis Photonics and Nichia in 2007 demonstrated stably improvements, showing that the strategy of high-end LED product developments paying off. Notwithstanding, Chi-Mei orders did not result in the significant contributions for Forepi on EBIT-based performances.
