In this paper, the historical industrial villages of northern Kaohsiung - staff dormitory in Kaohsiung Refinery of CPC Corporation, Taiwan for the study to explore the end of Japanese rule. In this two-tier sense, "historical of industrial settlement," the existence of Taiwan in terms of post-war development process, so that the past two decades of urban transformation issues and the context of human settlements should be of considerable discussion the value of the subject. Therefore, this article attempts through the modern urban planning, collective space, and historic preservation and other related modern exposition of Petroleum dormitory area for the development of modernity in the twenty-first century position were discussed. Research method is through the literature review, case studies and field surveys conducted content of construction. The purpose of this study are threefold: First, the dormitory area in different historical stages of the space formed by language and settlement of industrial architecture and landscape interpretation; Second, exploring the history of industrial clusters and collective self-evidence of historical memory space formation; Third, to explore the industrial settlements face after face of Kaohsiung, de-industrialization of modern positioning and future prospects of reflection. Conclusions re-development of six major topics: First, the space functions of industrial settlement projects and issues; Second, industrial properties and further development of cultural activities; Third, the environment and spatial ecology re-development; Fourth, social economy and industrial development; Fifth, local organizations framework for cohesion; Sixth, management and operation of mechanisms to strengthen such directions are discussed.
