Popis: | 98 The purpose of this study is to perform a further research on Su Shih’s works done during his exile at Huizhou in order to realize how Su Shih could be in comfort while being banished to a barbarian area at his old age. In his up-and-down official career, he had been traveling most of the territory of Sung Dynasty. Encountering such an enormous change, Su Shih had been expelled to various places, in which Huangzhou, Huizhou and Tanzhou could be representative for his exploits. Huizhou, located between Huangzhou and Tanzhou, not only played an important part in the continuity of developing Su Shih’s thought but also offered Su Shih the strength to struggle against the hard life he suffered after being exiled in his twilight years. This study started from Su Shih’s southward trip in order to understand the changes of his state of mind before arriving in Huizhou. Next, the life of Su Shih at Huizhou was divided into five topics, "five times movement of residence", "the beautiful wild step", "happy life in the difficult habitat", " brewing wine for treating guests", and "healthy life of content and peace", for deeper study of his adaptation to the difficult environment. On observing the right way in hard time, we can realize the self-respect of Su Shih as “being a righteous person residing among the barbarians” by analyzing his “pride and high morality” and “just solution of people’s suffering”. Through this study, we can find that Su Shih''s life in Huizhou was full of hardships and frustrations. However, Su Shih’s wisdom and morality of keeping aloof from the sorrow of being exiled, easygoing with fate, being self-respect in hardships and creating possibilities and adaptation in life in treating the difficulties show his wisdom in converting hardships to blessings and deeply affect the people afterwards. |
