The thesis highlights the working pressure on the senior-class home-room teachers and its coping strategies. The main purposes are demonstrated as followings: 1.To realize “the present situation of working pressure” on the senior-class home-room teachers and its coping strategies. 2.To analyze “the differentiation of working pressure” according to different backgrounds of the senior-class home-room teachers in Touyuan-County elementary schools. 3.To analyze “the differentiation of coping strategies” according to different backgrounds of the senior-class home-room teachers in Touyuan-County elementary schools. 4.To realize “the different coping strategies” according as the different working pressure of the senior-class home-room teachers in Touyuan-County elementary schools. 5.To realize “the prediction abilities of working pressure” revealed by the varied backgrounds and its coping strategies to the senior-class home-room teachers. To achieve the above purposes, the research adopts the questionnaire to the current senior-class home-room teachers of the ninety-seven school year at the public elementary schools in Touyuan County as the objects of random investigation. The questionnaire papers are issued out the total oh six hundred and forty-four volumes, recycled five hundred and sixty-six ones --- the rate of recycling about the percent of eighty-seven point nine. And the questionnaire has received five hundred and fifteen volumes of effective issues ---the usable rate about the percent of ninety-one. the questionnaire data are conducted by some statistical techniques: the mean and the standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise regression. The research reveals the following important discoveries: 1.The working pressure of senior-class home-room teachers at present at Touyuan County elementary schools is in dined to be the middle level. 2.The coping strategies of senior-class home-room teachers at present at Touyuan County elementary schools belongs to the middle level. 3.The differentiation of working pressure on the senior-class home-room teachers at elementary schools is displayed in according to different variables: the sexes, the level of education and the locations of schools do not contribute to the working pressure, while the ages, the marital status, the seniority, and the scale of schools do. 4.The differentiation of coping strategies in the senior-class home-room teachers at the elementary school varies distinctly by the sexes, the ages, the marital status, and the locations of school; not by the seniority, the levels of education and the scale of schools. 5.The high-working pressure senior-class home-room teachers are inclined to employ “the need of support coping strategy,” ”the adjustment of emotion,” “the escaping and delaying coping strategy,” and “the in-whole coping strategy,” more frequently than the lower-working pressure teachers. However, the lower-working pressure teachers more frequently use ”the problem solving” strategy than the higher-working pressure teachers. 6.The predicable analysis in terms of “background variables” and “coping strategies” on the working pressure of teachers as the followings: A. In the aspect of background variables ”the seniority” has the strongest prediction on the working pressure. B. In the aspect of “coping strategy,” “the escaping and delay coping strategy” predicts ultimately on working pressure. C. However, “the background variables” and “the coping strategies” do not expound too much to the working pressure. To sum up, the thesis expects to pose some suggestions to the related education administrations, the elementary schools, the senior-class home-room teachers, the parents, and the future studies; to reduce the working pressure on the senior-class home-room teachers at the elementary school in Touyuan County.
