Benefits of carbon emission reduction for the vegetation placement at rural village

Popis: | 96 Taiwan is a country of subtropical island with '' economic miracle '' by the efforts of compatriot in several decades. Following the rapid prosperity of economy, there have been existing lots of intrinsic problems; one of them is a common topic deeply concerned in the ''global warming''. Because the natural resources is limited in Taiwan, the government promoted the heavy chemical industry for a long time in the past, in addition, people''s utilities such as gas, water and electricity are all adopted at low price tactics, which results in the consequence of greenhouse gases discharged in a large amount due to people and enterprise''s groups do not treasure but waste the energy and resources. How to reduce the greenhouse gases especially carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is an urgent issue. Discharge reduction is the way commonly adopted international. This research recognized that by means of green plants in our natural environment to reduce carbon is a countermeasure of ecological environment considered. To green our community''s environment as greatly as possible can slow down the climate warming. The rural villages in Taiwan are now facing transition; once the landscape planting cooperates with the benefits of carbon reduction can create a perfection environment which integrated life, ecology and production in our daily life. He-ping village, Taichung County is choosen in this study to calculate the greening evaluation index by using the design and technique specifications for green building materials. According to the data of vegetation coverage before and after consolidation of the rural village, the amount of carbon dioxide fixation can be estimated for the 40 year’s growth. Besides, from the viewpoint of equilibrium in carbon dioxide fixation and emission, benefits of carbon reduction for the vegetation in the study areas are discussed. Finally, scenario of improvement on the placement of vegetation is drawn to see the effectiveness of carbon fixation after improving. Results show that there is an obvious decline both in greenery and/or carbon emission reduction after the consolidation of the rural vallage. The scenario of improvement on the greenery facilities for the study areas depicts that selecting suitable species and planting much in the vacant space can increase greenery beauty and reach the goal of sustainable utilization. |
