To Analysis the system of scripture study and meditation practice of the Tien-Tai Theory established by Master Chih-I, the author in this thesis tries to discuss the questions listed below: - What is the real meaning of evil nature thought and how to define its boundary? - How did those Masters interpreted and developed the evil nature thought after Chih-I? - Do all those various extended explanations by contemporary scholars follow the rules to Master Chih-I’s original intention of evil nature thought, or reoriented from the interpretation developed by other founders of Tien-Tai? This thesis starts with the writings of Master Chih-I and trying to understand the inherent nature, in one single thought to survey or embrace the 3,000 worlds(to see the universe as a thought), contemplation of the mind and so on that are derived from his theory that all Dharma nature is real and intrinsic. Then, to debates whether evil nature thought is one of the inevitable inclusions, and thus what its real connotation in this segment is. After talking about changes of evil nature thought through the related literature by Tien-Tai founders of each generation, and opinions published by contemporary scholars, the author discuss the value of evil nature thought and its genuine meaning in the practice of Buddhism
