Higher technological and vocational education plays an important role in nurturing skilled labors and professionals in the process of Taiwan development. College teachers of technical university are one of the major factors of education quality. This study aims to examine and analyze the current situation and trend on a basis of teacher professional development ability index. Based on the result of analysis, this study disclosed that the aged teachers and human college teachers highly value their career growth and teaching ability; with sufficient teaching experiences, they could easily face their career choice, deal with several of conflict, and understand students’ academical need. The improvement of professional development ability facilitates teachers’ overall professional development performance. Professors have a profound education concept and better performance in paper writing with the training of different career promotion. Teachers in college of management and human’ ideal pursuing is different from their colleagues in design’ physical creation; the latter show a consistency between degree of importance cognition and personal professional ability; so they have a more effective development. College professors show a more consistency between degree of importance cognition and personal professional ability than other career-laddered teachers due to the accumulation of research quality and quantity and adaptation ability of education environment. This study summarizes a set of high-technological-college teacher professional development ability index. This study also analyzes the difference and correlation among indexes for education training institutions and teacher career planning as reference.
