With the quick growth of Internet techniques and applications, users have to spend much more time to browse on the web and search the contents of Internet. This situation makes the search, access, presentation, integration and storage of information more and more difficult. To solve the problem, the idea of the semantic web has emerged. Ontology is the foundation of the semantic web, not only promoting the information search on the semantic web but also providing a kind of way to exchange, seek and identify characteristics between computers. The construction of ontology needs the help of experts but construction by humans not only wastes time but also wastes the efforts of experts. Therefore, automatically constructing ontology becomes an important issue. In our research, we apply the theory of formal concept analysis to automatically construct the concept hierarchy of ontology and to match up the binary relation matrix of documents and terms to express the independence, intersection and inheritance between different concepts to form the concept relationship of ontology. This ontology expresses the relative importance of different concepts and through choosing different concept collections to gain the related documents and concepts. The goals of automatically constructing ontology in our research will help the information classification systems and ontology extraction on the semantic web.
