A New Multiresolution Watermarking for Progressive Image Transmission Based on Scan Language

This paper presents a new multiresolutin watermarking scheme for progressive image transmission based on the Scan language [3]. The mean pyramid structure is used in the proposed watermarking scheme. Employing the Scan language, the given watermark is encrypted and embedded into each level of the mean pyramid structure. A detailed security analysis from the combinatorial viewpoint is also given. Some experimentations are carried out to illustrate that the difference between the embedded image (i.e., watermarked image) and the original image is almost invisible in multiresolution sense and it leads to the protection effect. In addition, the watermark protection against the JPEG compression is investigated.
