This research presents a model of responsible metrics designed to observe Revista Redes's fundamental contributions to the social network analysis community. This study shows that the journal Redes has fulfilled its purpose of offering research results from the Ibero-American world and has also been central in shaping the Portuguese and Spanish-speaking community around the ARS. A process of information retrieval work was carried out on all articles and citations, from 2002 to 2020, using data from Google Scholar. The designed model answers two questions: (1) From the calculation of the H index, what are the factors that have allowed the impact of the journal to grow? (2) What have been the contributions of Redes Journal in the constitution of geographic and institutional pillars for the expansion of the ARS community? Findings showed: a gradual growth of the Portuguese and Spanish speaking community around the magazine; a geographical scope with the most significant impact in LAC and the Iberian Peninsula; and uses of the articles are not only for research, since training new researchers has a critical weight. |
