Popis: AbstractIntroduction: Oral health includes healthy mouth and its healthy tissues, which allows for eating, speaking, and social encounters without active disease, discomfort, and dissatisfaction. In this research, validity and reliability of Persian translation of Quality of Life related to oral and dental health questionnaire was studied in children aged 11‒l4 years in Isfahan. Materials and methods: In this descriptive, analytical and cross-sectional study the subjects consisted of 128 children aged 11–14 randomly selected from schools in Isfahan. The children completed the Children Perception Questionnaire (CPQ), and then they were examined. DMFT, dmft, molar-incisor hypoplasia (MIH), traumatic dental injuries (TDI) and malocclusion indexes were determined. To study the reliability of CPQ, 60 of these children completed the questionnaire again without dental intervention two weeks later. To understand the relation between the indexes, ANOVA and Spearman’s correlation coefficient were used. In addition, Cronbach’s alpha and interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) were determined (α=0.05).Results: The average score of CPQ was 20.6 with a standard deviation of 16.60, with higher scores in females compared to males. Cronbach’s alpha and ICC were 0.92 and 0.82, respectively. CPQ had an insignificant correlation with DMFT, dmft, TDI, MIH and malocclusion (p value > 0.05). Conclusion: The Farsi version of the questionnaire is valid and reliable for use for Iranian children aged 11‒14 and can be used as a useful tool to assess the effect of oral and dental disorders on quality of life.Key words: Dental Caries, Hypoplasia, Malocclusion, Quality of life.
