Popis: Epsilonproteobacteria, such as Sulfurospirillum, can use molecular hydrogen as an electron donor for respiration. Here, the authors show that Sulfurospirillum can, in addition, release hydrogen during fermentation, allowing metabolic interactions with other hydrogen-consuming microorganisms.
