Popis: INTRODUCTION: The inexperience of the newly graduated nurses in their professional decisions and practices is one of the main reasons for the medical errors in the health care system. From this point of view, the study was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the errors room method in increasing the awareness of new graduate nurses about medical errors and risks. METHODS: The quasi-experimental study was carried out with 71 nurses, who began to work in a private university hospital and were graduated in 2018. New graduates were asked to determine the 25 medical errors and risks in the simulation environment and to record the form given to them. The Individual Characteristics Form, The Medical Error Tendency Scale (METS) and the Attitude Scale in Medical Errors (ASME) before and after the simulation based experience were completed by new graduates. Data were evaluated using descriptive tests, sign test and Kruskal Wallis analysis. RESULTS: Of the new graduates, 23.9% reported experiencing medical errors, while 45.1% reported having witnessed medical errors. Only 20 new graduates were found to have medical errors on 13 and above (28,2%). There was no statistically significant difference between the average scores of the new graduates from the METS and ASME before and after the simulation based experience (p> 0.05). The mean score of the new graduates who determined 13 and above the medical errors and risks in the Error Room was found to be statistically significantly higher (p
