Popis: Intercalated discs ensure mechanical and electrochemical coupling during contraction of the heart. Here, the authors show that loss of Xinβ results in cardiomyocyte proliferation defects and cardiomyopathy by influencing the Hippo-YAP signalling pathway, thus affecting cardiac development and function.
