Popis: WalKR is an essential two-component regulator that controls peptidoglycan synthesis in the human pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. Here, the authors provide biochemical, structural, and functional evidence supporting that the binding of a zinc ion inhibits autophosphorylation and thus alters WalKR regulatory activity.
