Healthcare technology is a critical factor for effective management of patient care, resulting in enhanced effectiveness when adopted by healthcare professionals. However, the lack of acceptance can undermine its inherent benefits. This study aims to investigate the factors that influence the adoption of technology among healthcare professionals, using Nigeria as a case study. The dataset for the study was collected from a sample of 301 private and public healthcare professionals. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and the results supported five of the proposed hypotheses, namely, perceived usefulness, perceived physical condition, technological anxiety, user innovativeness, and perceived availability which had a significant influence on Behavioral intention. However, Technological anxiety showed a negative influence on BI. The study sheds light on relevant factors for healthcare technology adoption. Psychological reengineering and human relation support and a reward system are required to further motivate technology adoption among healthcare workers. |
