To pay homage to Jean-Louis Genard in the context of this file dedicated to him, I have chosen to return to the first book he published a little over thirty years ago, Sociologie de l’éthique (1992 ). Like any work, that of Jean-Louis is cumulative. Over the past decades, he has deployed, consolidated, completed and enriched the theoretical strings that he had developed in particular in this book where the social actor is fully considered as an ethical subject in his triple modality of responsibility, commitment and of reflexivity. We will limit ourselves to recalling the context and the main arguments of this thesis and to showing that the theoretical tricks then activated in this book are still at work in his last texts. |
