Popis: | A model of alternative approaches to the study of crime provides a framework for future geographical work, incorporating key components of the criminology literature as well as spatial issues. It is shown how the phenomena of crime, and anti-social behaviour in general, is a «social construction», illustrating the relativist nature of the way we represent. The model also shows that explanations for crime variations can be summarized in terms of two broad approaches: either individual behaviour, sub-group or area effects, or from societal mechanisms. |
