Popis: | Based on the film The Best Offer (LA MIGLIORE OFFERTA, 2013), by Giuseppe Tornatore, this article proposes a reflection on the illusion of the double expressed by the original-copy dichotomy. After a brief introduction of how this dichotomy has become paradigmatic in the western thought, we point out the philosophy of Clément Rosset to discuss the central theme of the film: “there is always something authentic in each copy”. We argue, finally, that the illusion is not only to transform something into two, but also in the deluded's unwillingness to approve a reality that is impossible to duplicate. |
