This article aims to reconstruct the history of selective mechanisms for entering higher education in the Empire in the 1990s in order to understand the contradictions, continuities, ruptures and meanings in democratization of educational opportunities, considering their mediations and results in preliminary studies of a research project on Higher Education. It was carried out based on bibliographical and document studies (normative texts). The study shows, in diverse reformist initiatives in higher education, presence of elitist tendencies with slight assimilations of social movement and academia revindications, hindering democratization of educational opportunities. |
