A retrospective analysis of case histories of 923 patients with periodontal diseases was carried out in order to evaluate the structure and scope of therapeutic manipulations at different clinics. The results of analysis indicate that patients with periodontitis of medium severity aged 39-49 years most often consult the dentists; teenagers accounted for only 0.5% of all who consulted the dentists. Population analysis of 1773 patients of different age groups (15-18, 19-29, 20-49, and over 50 years) showed a direct relationship between the prevalence of periodontal diseases and age. Analysis of the structure of maxillodental abnormalities showed the predominance of deep occlusion (deep incisor overlapping) in patients of all ages; periodontal diseases most often develop in patients with this abnormality. The author suggests an order and structure of prevention of periodontal diseases. |
