The parish church in Bjäresjö near Ystad, southernmost in Scania (the southernmost part of modern Sweden) contains a large and very remarkable Romanesque decoration in the barrel-vaulted chancel and apse. It is a Concordia-decoration with an unusual program which I wish to shed light on by examining the iconography and structure of the salvation-historical narrative.
