To this end, we selected 14 patients who required extraction of four premolars, all with Class I malocclusion. The anterior retraction was performed by the retraction of canine (prior to incisors bonding) and of incisors. Twelve patients did not use any device for anchoring. Lateral cephalograms were examined at the beginning and end of canine retraction and by the end of the fixed orthodontic treatment.
