Popis: Some women writers, most born either late in the 1950's or at the very beginning of the 1960's, embody an original trend in literature: the so-called ‘Individualized’ Writing (gerenhua xiezuo). Chen Ran, Hai Nan, Hong Ying, Lin Bai, and Xu Xiaobin. On the basis of strong analogies among them on different levels, with reference to typology, style, and contents of narration, it is possible to read in their works a similar representation of the mother feature and of the mother-daughter relationship. Their depiction of the Mother shares some points in common with women’s literature of the 80’s, but goes even a step further in the refusal of the traditional mother feature as a model. This refusal is both a starting point for one’s own affirmation and an ambiguous recovering of matrilinearity
