Popis: This report evaluates how eliminating Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cash-out would affect SNAP (formerly the Food Stamp Program) eligibility and benefits for Californians receiving SSI and for nonelderly, nondisabled family members living with them. In 1974, California opted to “cash out†recipients SSI benefits from SNAP. In lieu of SNAP eligibility for low-income seniors and people with disabilities receiving SSI, the state increased the State Supplementary Payments by $10.
