Popis: Bergeron's technique, a graphical transient anaysis method of travelling waves along transmission lines, hitherto applied to time-invariant terminations only, but recently extended by us analytically to time-variant and nonlinear loads, has been tested experimentally for the first time. The graphical construction is illustrated for the three basic diode impedance characteristics, terminating a pulsed transmission line: time-invariant nonlinear (a), time-varying ohmic (b) and time-varying nonlinear (c). Oscilloscope traces of dynamic current-voltage characteristics for all three diode types are shown and agree with results obtained by the graphical technique.
