Popis: | In my "Principles of Education" class, referencing educational philosophy, I argue how teachers can apply Socrates to education. In general, teachers in charge of this class find it difficult to introduce Socrates because he was a fifth-century B.C. thinker and he is not familiar to students. Teachers tend to conduct classes using contents that students feel are more realistic. However, the accumulated knowledge of Socrates that we can employ is all around us. This paper argues with examples that teachers can provoke interest among students by helping them read closely great books based on the knowledge of Socrates. 7 KJ00009880359 |
