The purpose of this study is to discuss perspectives of deriving teaching contents from the study of teaching materials for music using “Pomp and Circumstance March No.1” as teaching material. Based on the literature and previous studies, we were able to categorize perspectives of the study of teaching materials and the derivation of teaching content based on the “concept of the generating music” into two categories, which are: 1)To identify the characteristics of the formal aspects using the relationships among the four aspects of the subject content based on the “concept of the generating music” as a clue, and 2)To identify one formal aspect in consideration of the developmental level of the target students. Based on the above perspectives, we reexamined the actual cases where teaching materials were studied assuming music appreciation class using “Pomp and Circumstance March No.1” as teaching material, and have derived the conclusion that it is possible to derive teaching contents that allow children to form their own perceptions. Further, we also found sub-perspectives when considering children’s development in the study of teaching materials and the possibility to elaborate procedures for the study of teaching material. |
