Popis: The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual situation and the influence of absence of parent on elementary school students in Yanji city in Yanbian Korean autonomous region located in the northeastern part of China by questionnaire survey. 117 elementary school students of grade 4, grade 5, and grade 6 asked for answers about “parents’ migrants”. The point that seems to be characteristic is that at the elementary school grade level, the proportion of “parents” migrant workers” exceeds 60%.In addition, there are a lot of children whose both parents go out as “migrant workers”. The rate of children whose parents are not at home for years are 35%. More than 1 in 3 student has lived without their parents. In general, it was recognized that the absence of parents had a negative effect on children. We also asked a teacher in public junior high schools in Yanji city to administer the same questionnaire as the one in elementary school. As in the elementary school, the influence of parent’s absence on children was not recognized. The point to watch out is that in junior high school, parents’ migrant rates are going to increase further. However, in the case of Yanji city, immigration of parents is occurring in urban areas. It is necessary to understand that there are big differences between “migrant workers” in urban areas and so called “farmers’ workers” in rural areas. The interesting thing is that the relationship between parents is supplemented by the relatives, and they play big role. In Yanjin city, the human relationships responsible for nurturing are maintained soundly. There is a difference in the structure of society and the school system between China and Japan. So, it is not so easy to compare the depopulation problem in Japan with the one of . Yanjin city However, the declining birth rate of Japan and the population decline of Yanbian State are in common, which is an important material for considering the future of Japan.
