Popis:	A simple and convenient method is proposed for the synthesis of 2-amino-5-hydroxymethylthiazolines with various substituents in the amino group, which is based on hydrolysis of the corresponding 5-halomethyl derivatives of thiazoline in the presence of divalent lead oxide.
