Popis: This chapter analyses the rationalities by which the state supervises public schools in a Swiss canton. It is concerned with the “global/national/local mesh” of contemporary government in education (Singh, Kenway, & Apple 2005, p. 9). Current school reforms spreading throughout Switzerland belatedly echo globalised policies focussing on standards, performance testing, evaluation, managerialist organisation and accountability.
