Popis: | Remote Laser Welding (RLW) provides new possibilities for the highly productive and flexible joining of metal structures, especially in the automotive industry. In this study, the main advantages and limitations of the RLW technology are discussed against the major rival technology, namely the Resistance Spot Welding (RSW). Additionally, an evaluation strategy is developed and implemented in a DELMIA based decision support tool. The methodology developed, is tested and evaluated through a real industrial case study, which is the welding of a car door, from the automotive assembly sector. Finally, a first performance evaluation is presented. |
