The formation of self-cleaning functions on silicone elastomers is crucial for practical applications but still challenging. In this study, superhydrophobic silicone elastomers (SHSEs) with a 3D-hierarchical microstructure were achieved during the curing process with the assistance of a homemade template. The micro-nano structure formed by the assistance of the template makes the silicone elastomer surface achieve robust superhydrophobicity with a WCA at ∼163°, which can easily self-clean, removing surface contamination.
