Popis: | SummaryA method is described for differentiating between non-specific irritants and clinically effective anti-inflammatory agents using the carrageenin abscess test. Irritants mixed with the carrageenin increased abscess weight at concentrations which reduced abscess weight when injected subcutaneously at a distant site (scapula area). The anti-inflammatory compounds reduced the abscess weight when mixed with the carrageenin at concentrations below or equal to those concentrations effective systemically. |
