Popis: | We describe two cases of 6-year-old twin girls presenting with acute carpal tunnel syndrome associated with Human Parvovirus B19 infection as evidenced by serological data and by detection of Human Parvovirus B19 DNA in blood with use of polymerase chain reaction. To our knowledge, this is the first time that HPVB19 infection has been suggested as the causal agent of acute bilateral CTS in twins at the same time and it is possible to speculate that similar immunologic responses can be observed in twins during viral infections. Burada serolojik testler ve polimeraz zincir reaksiyonu kullanarak İnsan Parvovirus B19 DNA’sının tespiti ile kanıtlandığımız, 6 yaşındaki ikiz kız kardeşlerde İnsan Parvovirus B19 ilişkili akut bilateral karpal tünel sendromu olguları sunulmaktadır. Bildiğimiz kadarıyla, bu yazı ile ilk kez ikiz kardeşlerde eş zamanlı gelişen akut bilateral KTS’nun nedensel ajanı olarak HPVB19 enfeksiyonu bildirilmektedir ve viral enfeksiyonlar sırasında ikizlerde gözlenen immünolojik cevapların benzer olabileceğini speküle etmek mümkündür. |
