Popis: | The productivity of a ranch depends upon successful breeding. The objective of the work was to evaluate the percentage of gestation of a dairy herd in Los Altos of Jalisco, México that had 97 Holstein cows in 2004, increasing the inventory to 342 Holstein cows in 2016. The herd′s diet is based on grain, silage, and alfalfa. The herd was also subject to artificial insemination, using pedometers for heat detection. The information was obtained from the global report generated by the AGROPEC Star® LACTO software, and the monthly and annual pregnancy rates were analyzed during 13 years (2004 to 2016), the data were transformed using the arcsine proportions test (√x + 1) and analyzed by a completely random design. The Tukey comparison test was applied. Subsequently, a second-order polynomial regression analysis was conducted to determine the trend of this reproductive indicator in the evaluated years.
