Popis: | An analysis of the prevalence of skin diseases among children in Bankura and its neighbourhood is presented. This study is unique in that it was carried out among a predominantly rural population and thus reflected rural health in the western part of West Bengal. There was a high incidence of skin diseases among children. The unusually high incidence of pyoderma and parasitosis points to the lack of personal hygiene and education. With better education and social training, most of these diseases could be prevented. |
