Popis: | The patterns of renal function in renal parenchymal and renovascular hypertension are considered. In hypertension due to polycystic kidney disease the pattern indicates a proportional decrease of renal blood flow and of glomerular filtration rate. In hypertension associated with acute glomerulonephritis and in the early stages of chronic glomerulonephritis, the filtration fraction is characteristically low. In hypertension secondary to renal artery stenosis, split renal function studies reveal excessive tubular reabsorption of water in the affected kidney. |
