Popis: | One of the dengue control efforts is the use of Bacillus thuringiensis in order to reduce the dengue vector of Aedes aegypti through its larvas. This was an experimental research using gram-positive bacteria B. thuringiensis var israelensis (Bactivec) serotype H-14 which was applied with several concentrations (0.02 ml, 0.01 ml and 0.007 ml) in 246 ml of water that has been filled with 25 larvas of the 3rd or 4th instars. Larvas were taken from the area of West Kalimantan. Data were analyzed using a completely randomized design to examine the percentage of larval mortality within 3 hours, 9 hours and over 12 hours. The results showed that the concentration of 0,02 bactivec caused 89% larval mortality, and concentrations of 0,01 and 0,007 caused 88% and 87% larval mortality, respectively within the 9 hours exposure time. It can be concluded that the use of 0,07 ml of bactivec is still effective to control Aedes aegypti larvae. To determine the negative of the use of bactivec, further studies are needed. |
