A simple and highly efficiently method for the synthesis of 9-aryl-6- (3- methylphenyl)[1,2,4]triazolo [4,3-a]quinolines8by the oxidation of the corresponding aryl aldehyde 1-[3-(3-methylphenyl)quinolin-2- yl]hydrazones7using iodobenzene diacetate [PhI(OAc)2] in the solid state at RT under grinding conditions is described. The yields are very good and purity is high. The structures of compounds3-8were confirmed by their spectroscopic (IR, 1H NMR and MS) and analytical data. The compounds8have been tested for their antibacterial and anti- inflammatory activities. |
