Popis: The direct aromatic carbon–oxygen bond-formation reaction was described and the novel and simple synthetic method for chroman derivatives involving aromatic cation radical intermediates was developed using the hypervalent iodine(III) reagent, phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate) (PIFA).
