5‑Fluorouracil (5‑FU) is the preferred chemotherapeutic drug used in the treatment of colon cancer; however, drug resistance affects its clinical efficacy. Visfatin, an adipokine that promotes tumour development, has the potential to increase resistance to chemotherapy.
