| Popis: | The main factor instrumental in the decision to modernize this foundry was the economics of producing brakeblocks and chairs for the railway at a lower unit cost than available from either the old foundry or the trade. In assessing the financial aspects of the proposal, use was made of a computer model to indicate the strength and weaknesses. This paper discusses the operation and commissioning of the plant. |
