For the care of women victims of sexual violence, there is the Brazilian Women's House in São Luís/MA. It’s one of the actions of the federal government program “Woman, living without violence”, today named “Woman safe and protected”. A public space that I analyzed from an ethnographic perspective, using participant observation and document analysis, how the processes between servant-victims-processes forge its functioning and dynamics. I understood how a state service is constituted and (re)made based on daily micro-inventions incorporated by its administrators as a tool that can, to a certain extent, generate dignity in women's lives, inside and outside of the service. I perceived that the different professionals are also policy makers and managers of state governance. Because they produce officialities, recognition and understandings about the fact and the precarious life, the life that can be passible of humanity – to be lived, recognized, mourned. Therefore, this ethnography is about the production and manipulation of documents, laws and lives in the only Brazilian Women's House functioning in the Northeast, in an integral way and in a network at Brazil. |
