"Art is for the people" is the argument of those who use artistic and literary forms to spread ideas. Various movements that have emerged around the world have thus used art and literature as a means of spreading ideas. Leftist movements are at the forefront of this. Following this tradition, the Dravidian Movement also used all forms of art and literature as a means of spreading ideas. As the Dravidian movement took over all forms of literature, they also approached novels. This review refers to them as Dravidian Movement novels. This article analyses these novels into three categories: beginning, growth, and decline. The novel's content and narrative trends were explored in detail. Growth factors and decline factors are explained separately. Overall, this article seeks to explain the place of novels in the tradition of the Dravidian movement, in terms of its growth and decline. |
