Ankle Sprain is a common condition in athletes, but it has high prevalence on the general population, which can cause direct costs to the population. The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the effectiveness of cryotherapy on pain, swelling, function and recurrence in subjects with acute ankle sprain. Searches were made at MEDLINE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE, AMED, PSYCINFO AND PEDro databases, using the terms “Randomized Controlled Trials”, “acute ankle sprain”, “Cryotherapy”, and “pain, swelling, function, recurrence”. |
