Popis: | Dark tourist facilities represent one of the contemporary tourism phenomena. Although dark tourism is conceptually associated with the legal inconsistency of tourism, it is based on content related to human suffering. The tourist's interest in dark tourist products is growing, and such contents today are included in standard tourist arrangements in the receptive markets where they exist. Despite the proven contribution to the differentiation and competitiveness of the destination, the potential resources for the development of dark tourist facilities are often neglected. This is a consequence of insufficient education of tourist staff for the development of specialized tourism products. Unsustainable approach to the development of specialized tourism products results in a focus on content, ignoring broader repercussions for an integrated destination product. In the case of dark tourism products, a particular problem is in the field of socio-cultural and thanatological repercussions that the dark tourist offer makes it particularly sensitive to ethical standards of the general public. The result is a possible negative publicity for visitors and organizers of such tourist arrangements. Due to the above-mentioned risks and insufficient education of tourist industry, despite the growing global interest in the dark tourist offer, the same is slowly developing and it is still modest. The existing global supply often ignores some of the potential benefits of implementing such content into a destination and national integrated tourism product. In attempting to clear up many doubts, as well as positive and negative experiences in global tourism practice, the authors carried out several research by which they offered a framework model for creating a dark tourist product with recommended variables of significant impact. |
