Shallow basement rock fracturing has an importance for evaluating permeability and stability in the realm of Engineering Geology, Environment and Hydrogeology. In the cases where fracturing is abundant and multi-angled, direct rock coring does not solve these questions. However, logging the well-Gamma Ray (GR) and wall imaging in this prospect, at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro- help to delineate a more complete picture of the rock fractures, as shown by the present article where we used two synthetic seismograms from which the fractures were identified. |
